We are a small, friendly family run B&B in the heart of the historical town, Bury St Edmunds. Our B&B is in a charming two-storey Victorian house on a quiet and neighbourly street. The perfect location to be if you’re after a spot that offers a cocktail of town life mixed with country! We are 2 minutes walk from the town centre and local amenities such as bars, cafes, shops and restaurants. Close by are the wonderful award-winning Abbey Gardens and historical sites, if you’re interested in live music and modern art, the Apex theatre is a stone’s throw away. Come and enjoy beautiful country walks, amazing local scenery and fun outdoor activities.

You can expect a warm welcome from us, cosy and comfortable rooms, and a full hearty English breakfast – served with a cheery smile. We take pride in being an international home, catering to guests from all around the world. Languages spoken are Italian, French, Spanish and English.

The house is a short 5 minute walk from the Coach Station and a brisk 10 minute walk from Bury St Edmunds Railway Station.

Hi there, I’m MarielIa Scarlett and I am Italian but have lived in the UK for the last 36 years with my English husband, Paul. I have two grown up children, one living in Italy at present. I love travelling, gardening, going to the theatre, visiting my home in Italy, cooking, and my dog Bruno – a Welsh Springer Spaniel. We take city breaks in Europe and normally stay in b&bs… My motto is ‘have no regrets…’

* No Smoking

* Dogs are welcome but please contact us prior to inform us of your four legged friend. Please ensure that they’re well behaved when staying and please respect our premises. 

* We welcome cyclists and can provide secure cycle storage.

* We are open all year round, including Christmas.
